Caratinga - Brackley Music Festival 2009
Three Brazilians and a Brit make up this fabulous quartet who perform dazzling accoustic interplay, infectious rhythms and gorgeous songs from over a century of Brazilian music.
Caratinga plays music by Brazil's greatest composers from the 1900s to the present day, from early Brazilian tangos by Ernesto Nazareth, to classic choros from the 1930s and '40s by legendary figures Pixinguinha and Jacob do Bandolim, to contemporary greats such as Hermeto Pascoal, Guinga and Luciana Rabello. Traditional Sambas and Choro are brought to life by Caratinga who will give us an evening filled with irresistible rhythms and beautfiul melodies.
There will be a bar courtesy of The Red Lion.
Supported by Northants Touring Arts.
