It is the aim of Greatworth Primary School to do our very best to prepare all children in our care for their future life, through personal and academic education to successfully take whatever path they choose to follow.
It is our further aim to help them make wise choices about their futures by considering the moral and spiritual dimensions of life.
In doing this we are providing not only a service to the children but to their parents and the community.
Greatworth Primary School serves children from the parishes of Greatworth and Marston St. Lawrence and will admit children from outside these parishes including Brackley, subject to the overall number of pupils in the school and ultimately the Governor's consideration.
Children begin school in the September after their fourth birthday.
Greatworth School Playgroup
There has been a playgroup in Greatworth for many years, enjoying the use of the school hall and other facilities. The playgroup has the support of the Reception Class teacher at Greatworth School, which in turn helps the children get a really good foundation for their first year in full time education. Their familiarity with the building and many cohorts on their first day at school is invaluable.
Greatworth Playgroup operates four times a week with the Thursday session only available for children in their pre-school year.

Greatworth County Primary School first opened in 1878 and the original buildings are still in use at the top end of the school. Major improvement programmes have given a marvellous hall, two modern classrooms, an art and craft room and a superb music room.
Outdoors there is with the playing field, play equipment, an extended playground and a "Tower of the Four Seasons". This construction displays ceramic panels made by the children from Greatworth and Frank Wise Schools.
The school runs several after-school clubs, including French and chess clubs. There is a strong focus on music and there have been many sporting achievements. Pupils enjoy many out of school activities and trips, ensuring a rounded education.
