It’s almost time for one of the biggest events in the charity fundraising year, the Macmillan World’s Biggest Coffee Morning on 26th September 2014.
This event was first established in 1990 and has had more people joining in every year, raising much more money for the charity. Over £20 million was donated in 2013 alone from over 154,000 people, an increase from the 2,000 people who registered in its debut year.
Macmillan provide invaluable support for people suffering from cancer and their families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week through support groups, nurses, and resource centres.
The idea of the event is to meet up with friends for a brew, relax, joke around but raise money for Macmillan at the same time. However it isn’t just coffee mornings that you can have on the day, other events occurring across the UK include quizzes, karaoke and garden parties.
