Have you heard about traineeships? They’re an exciting new initiative recently launched by the government and Alliance Learning can now offer them in business administration and warehousing.

A traineeship lasts approximately 6 months. For the first 10 weeks you’ll spend 2 days a week at Alliance Learning, studying all the theory involved in your chosen traineeship. Then for the next 6-8 weeks, you’ll spend 2 days a week with an employer, giving you the chance to put all your skills into practice.

A traineeship with Alliance Learning can really help you prepare for an apprenticeship, other form of training, and even get back into employment. It effortlessly combines work preparation training, work placement and Maths and English support to help you on the road to employment.

To embark on a traineeship. You’ll need be aged between 19 and 23 (25 if you have a learning difficulty assessment up to age 25) and have previously not been able to enroll on an apprenticeship or employment because you have limited skills and experience, but are committed to finding paid employment. You must also only be qualified under level 2 (i.e. 5 GCSE’s at C and above.)

You don’t get paid whilst on the traineeship but any travel costs will be covered. The benefits of completing a traineeship could be huge though. Once you finish, you could be marketed for future vacancies through Alliance Learning’s marketing material, and considered for selection for any apprenticeship vacancies Alliance Learning have.

If that wasn’t enough, Alliance Learning have just launched their new employment law workshops. You’ll be able to attend one of two courses, or both if you like, called managing your difficult worker and changing from 5 days working to shift work/6 or 7 day cover.

The managing your difficult employee course will cover everything a business owner wants to know about dealing with challenging staff, like identifying the problems, understanding the law around dismissal and planning appropriate courses of action.

The changing your working week course is perfect for anyone who know that staff schedules will be changing in the future, but aren’t sure how to approach this to the employee’s. It’ll cover what you need to plan for in the future, identifying what is currently happening, discussing the changes with your team and how to deal with tricky questions and reluctant employee’s, how wage structure will be affected and a lot more.

Both courses are only a day and cost £150, but will prove invaluable in the future. Dates are available on request, so call Alliance Learning on 01204 689592 to book your place.
