Fylde Civic Awareness Group

Two years ago a local group successfully campaigned to create a new Town Council for St Anne's on the Sea.

To encourage local people to stand for election to the new body, a series of free seminars was held.

These were popular, and had a regular attendance of around 30. Six people stood as candidates. Five were elected.

Other members of the group grew in confidence and went on to take a more active role in local community organisations.

Now a new series of seminars is being held, but this time the emphasis is broader.

Over this winter, twelve, non party-political seminars will be staged.

They are open to all Fylde residents, and there is no charge
