Hillstart Driver Training is owned by fully qualified and experienced driving instructor, Lee Hill.
With years of experience as a driving instructor, Lee has been commended by Senior Examiners for achieving the highest attainable grade for an instructor in the shortest amount of time.
Proud to be one of the few Grade 6 Approved Driving Instructors in the area, Lee says:

Lee would now like to introduce a new Instructor to Hillstart, please welcome Peter Hallas
Upon leaving full time education Peter went into the retail trade managing a number of retail outlets. Following this, Peter achieved his childhood ambition to join the ambulance service, where he became a fully qualified ambulance man. During this time Peter was trained by the Greater Manchester police force in advanced driving, where he achieved the highest grade.
Following the restructuring of the ambulance service when it was broken up into various sections (not something Peter agreed with), Peter and his wife moved to the Fylde coast where he then qualified and obtained his public service vehicle licence, including double decker buses and trams.
During this time Peter began training with BSM and became a Grade 6 (the highest grade attainable), driving instructor and commenced business as a franchisee with BSM some ten years ago. Since then, Peter has taken the compulsory check test by the DSA (Driving Standards Agency), and has continued to be assessed as a grade 6 driving instructor.
After ten years with BSM, Peter felt it time for change and joined Lee Hill at Hillstart Driver Training, being followed there by all of his pupils.
Peter is a patient and friendly instructor, who looks forward to teaching you to drive to the highest possible standard.

With Lee I passed my Practical test with no minors, can honestly say I've never felt more comfortable and at ease. He teaches you not only about driving but also every detail of the car so you know what to do and expect for when getting your own car. My sister also passed with Lee, achieving no minors as well. I would highly recommend Hillstart for both new drivers and also people who have had bad experiences with bad instructors before. His colleague Peter took me for my Mock test and made me feel comfortable right from the start. With them both being the highest graded instructors it's easy to see why the success rate is so high. I honestly don't think me or my sister would of both achieved a clean sheet if we went with different instructors. Lee makes sure your driving skills are perfected and you feel comfortable with the car. After my test the examiner took a minute to congratulate myself and Lee for the obvious hard work and effort that we both had put in. Very soon I am doing my pass plus course which will teach me how to drive on the motorway and on difficult roads. So a massive thank you to you Lee I think you are great and a fantastic instructor.

Came to Hillstart after a stressful, difficult time with my first instructor. Peter was brilliant from the start, extremely patient, easy to talk to, and most of all, if you think he's wrong, he won't mind you asking him why he thinks differently. With Peter I passed first time with only three minors. I can't recommend him enough! Also, his colleague Lee was a great help after taking me for my mock test, explaining what I was doing wrong and how to correct them, he seemed a great instructor as well. Overall, if you want an instructor who is almost guaranteed to make you pass first time (look at the pass rate!) go with Hillstart. Two great blokes, brilliant car, and success.
I literally cannot recommend this company highly enough, havning learnt with Lee and taken my mock test with Peter, I learned that they both have the same passion for passing pupils, and they have the best methods of teaching. Having had a previous instructer to compare with, I feel like there is no competition for Lee, he is clearly the best out there. I passed today first time and I've never been so confident with a test before!!
passed my driving test today first time with hill start! lee hill was the main man to introduce me to driving and i have never looked back, he is friendly,reliable, patient and 2000% commited to every student to help them develop and gain confidence, i never felt pressured into doing something i didnt want to do and i was taught at my own pace, with gaining the courage and confidence to solve an issues i felt i had within my driving, and great value for money!! it has been a pleasure and an enjoyment learning to drive with lee and great fun too. i would recommend hillstart to any new driver 5* all the way! thanks lee!!
Passed my test today and very happy with my driver training, Lee was my instructor and taught me all areas thoroughly. Made me feel confident with my driving and had a fun time learning! Explained everything properly and didn't rush me through any of it. Definitely would recommend to anyone who wishes to learn!

Lee Hill is a great instructor to be with, he's easy going and finds simple ways to put things in to perspective. Hill Start is well priced, cheaper than most instructors and by far the best on the fylde. The value for money is amazing, and he can boast a 100% pass rate and i'm happy to be one of them. Thanks to Lee I passed my driving test about two weeks ago with only one minor point.Lee is a friendly and calm driving instructor with a huge knowledge of driving.What can I say more? I passed today!! Lee was a very patient instructor, as I could be very stuborn. He explained everything very clearly and answered ever question I asked. Passed first time, in exactly 3 months!! Peter is a great teacher and teaches you great driving skills. there was never a time i felt uncomfortable or pressured when driving and when mistakes are made I was kept calm to get over them. i would highly recommend Hillstart as driving instructors:)
Lee is a very good driving instructor he has taught me many techniques that are not only useful which helped me pass my test but also out on the road after I pass. After 3 months and 30 hours worth of lessons later, today was the day that I passed my driving test first time, all thanks to Mr Lee Hill and Hillstart Driver Training! He's a one-of-a-kind gentleman who is a true professional, at the top of his game and your best mate all at the same time! If you dream about finding the perfect driving instructor then this gentleman can make your dreams a reality! The first thing i will mention about Peter from Hillstart is that he became the most patient person i have ever met. From my first lesson, where i didn't know anything about cars and driving to the last lesson where i knew excatly what i was doing and did it correctly all of the time which made me pass my driving test first time!! I would recommend Peter to anyone because he taught me so much in so little time building me to a safe and competant driver. Peter doesn't just teach you for the test, but also for after the test when you are fully independant. I found Peter also comfortable to drive with as he is fully understanding and knows how difficult sometimes driving can be and he also has a great sense of humour.

I passed my test 32 yers ago but I have never been confident enough to drive on the motorway. Lee spent 2 hours patiently talking me through everything. I learnt how to confidently join motorways, know where the blind spots to other drivers are, manouver,getting into the right lane, anticipate what other drivers would do and many more things. Lee gave me the confidence to drive to Leeds the next day without panicking. Thankyou Lee for your patience and expert tuition.
I passed my test a couple of weeks ago first time with only 1 fault. I learnt with peter. He is such a friendly and calm driving instructor i would reccomend him with anyone. I also had my mock test with Lee who is as friendly and calm, together they make a great partnership and will be successful for a long time.
