After months of planning, the programme for Bishop’s Stortford College’s Festival of Literature has been finalised.
The return of the event is scheduled for February 3rd to 8th 2012 and off the back of previous successes, will be anticipated with great enthusiasm.
Organisers have put together a really impressive and diverse line up for this, the third annual Festival of Literature. With the aim of nurturing and growing a passion for the spoken and written word in all members of the Bishop’s Stortford community, both young and old alike, there is a full programme of evening events with visitors including:
- Authors – Cat Wetherill, Paul Stewart, Anne Fine, SJ Watson, Paul Francis
- Illustrators – Chris Riddell
- Poets – John Hegley, Luke Wright
- Politicians – Shirley Williams
- Actors – Simon Callow
- Comedians – Robin Ince
In order to really engage the children of Bishop’s Stortford, there will be daytime events for College pupils for example the Kids Lit Quiz where local schools will be invited to enter teams to compete against a team of four authors. There are other events especially for local schools and the prize giving for a competition for budding illustrators.
