The Motorsport Industry Association (MIA) once again has a jam-packed business growth schedule for members of the motorsport industry at next week’s Autosport International at Birmingham’s NEC.

On Wednesday 9th January, NASCAR will meet Formula One for the first time at EEMS - the Entertainment and Energy Efficient Motorsport Conference in association with AVL Racing. Gene Stefanyshyn, Senior VP at NASCAR will share the platform with Formula 1 Technical Director, Pat Symonds, discussing future technologies in the sport.

With 250 engineers in attendance and showcases from 25 companies, this unique conference will uncover business opportunities being created by increasingly energy-efficient internal combustion engines linked to low-carbon fuels in motorsport. Motorsport’s growing success and value, as a world-leading R&D resource for the development of innovative solutions to energy efficiency, is central to this theme.

Turning Data into Drama will increase income from substantial new audiences by collaborating with the creative industry. This will be discussed with Rodi Basso from McLaren Applied Technologies, Matthias Dank from AVL Racing and Kevin Baughan, former Deputy CEO of Innovate UK.

On Thursday 10th, the MIA will run a Motorsport to Automotive Workshop in the Piazza from 11:30 - 12:30. Members of the Automotive Council and leaders of the automotive industry will attend to encourage increased engagement between these two industries.

That evening, Martin Bayfield, international rugby star, actor and broadcaster, will host the highly entertaining MIA Business Excellence Awards to be presented to seven winning companies during the evening. Many industry VIPs and over 400 key motorsport executives attend so making this the best networking opportunity at the show.

The MIA offers a free Meeting Arrangement Service, alongside the Department of International Trade, to direct international visitors to the right companies for their requirements. All exhibitors can access this free service to meet international buyers.

Throughout the show, for its members and all international visitors, the MIA hosts the popular International Business Lounge in partnership with Autosport International. The professional atmosphere of the Lounge is ideal for networking and business meetings and will be enhanced by a 2nd generation Bentley GT3 on its way to the USA for the new Blancpain GT World Challenge Series.
