What is Monkey Food all about?

"Monkey Food" is an opportunity for Beverley's top dining establishments and caterers to come together in a friendly competition and to be voted "Beverley's Monkey Food" establishment of the month.

Real food locally sourced, locally prepared

The event is organised and run by Valerie Prentiss and Linda Duncan, who are both lovers of great food, the first of many planned events is to be held at Beverley's Dine On The Row, on Monday 12th October.  Following your choice of main course you will then be asked to sample and vote on 6 "Divine Desserts" individually created by 6 of Beverley's leading restaurants.

The first monkey Food event held at Dine on The Rowe on the 12th October 2009 was a resounding success. All 40 tickets were a sell out. Chefs from each of the 6 participating emporiums excelled themselves by creating desserts to die for. The evening was a huge amount of fun and everyone left with a smile on their faces. The next event is to be held on the 9th November at Inspirations the Old Granary Vicar Lane Beverley. If you want to ensure your place, call Linda on 07792561772 to avoid any disappointment report abuse...

What a yummy night it was for all at the Monkey Food event at Dine on the Rowe. All the chefs helped each other and the desserts flowed. The next one at Inspirations on the 9th movember 2009 is going to be even better, the chefs are ver keen to win so the desserts are going to be more amazingly yummy.... report abuse...

Went to the inaugural Monkey Food event Dining on the Rowe, a superb location with excellent food and staff. The event was great fun and perfectly hosted by the fab Valerie and Linda who share, amongst others, a curious understanding of the word 'umami'. A great variety of deserts were served ranging from a somewhat bizzare chocolate cake with what appeared to be sour cream to a sublime creme brule with (no accents allowed on this site it appears) mango and passion fruit at the bottom. The next event I hear will be hosted at "inspiration" at the Old Granary, where you will meet the incredible duo Mada and Neil in a tremendous location. Not to be missed, but if you can't make it, visit anyway and claim your free glass of bubbly. report abuse...
