The Mulberry Bush Day Nursery Information

The first Mulberry Bush Nursery was opened in Ashbourne in 1990 and having proved a great success and an invaluable asset to the community, the Belper branch of the Childcare and Day Nursery was opened in early 1992. Again, through its excellent management it proved a huge success and soon filled to its maximum capacity for pre-school children. Later in the same year the Childcare and Day Nursery expanded its services when it opened its 'Baby Unit'.

The Belper branch of The Mulberry Bush Day Nurseries extended its services in 1997 it added an extension to the Childcare and Day Nursery. This provided a larger baby unit and created a 'Tweenies Unit'. The opening of an 'After-School Club' at the same time, extended the capacity to children up to 12 years of age within the Childcare and Day Nursery.

The Mulberry Bush Nursery offers:

• Childcare and Day Nursery for children aged 3 months to 5 years
• Opening times from 7.30 am to 6.00 pm with facilities for 'short days' from 8.00am - 3.00 pm
• 'After-School Club' for which a collection service is offered. This is offered to children between the ages of 4 - 12.
• 'Schools Out' Holiday Club so that 4 -12 year olds can be cared for during school holidays.
• 'Shoppers Crèche' Mondays 9.30 am - 1.30 am @ £2.50 per hour
• 'Bush Babies' parent and baby group Thursdays 9.30 am - 11.30 am @ £2.25
• Central Location within close proximity to the Town Centre

All the Childcare and Day Nurseries are owned by Liz and Tom Sread. Liz's career as a teacher had given her 16 years of practical experience working with children of all ages and from a variety of backgrounds and has provided the Childcare and Day Nurseries with the foundations to provide the best child care for Belper. The Mulberry Bush Day Nursery will always be a family concern. The Nursery has been established for 16 years and with Liz's input has over 30 years of expertise in childcare and education.

The Investors In People Award was given to all three Childcare and Day Nurseries by July 1994 and again in 1997, 2000 and 2003. They were the first chain of Childcare and Day Nurseries in the country to achieve this award. The Mulberry Bush Day Nurseries continue to work to the highest standards possible taking pride in their health and safety standards. Excellent Ofsted reports can be viewed on the Ofsted Web Site and are very influential when parents are choosing the right Childcare and Day Nursery for their children. The Mulberry Bush Day Nursery is finding that the majority of  their intake comes via 'word of mouth' recommendations, of which they are very proud.
