Ambergate After School Club looks for support

We have just received information about a new out-of-school club based at Ambergate School that is looking for equipment and funds. It has been set up to provide after school and holiday care for primary school children living in Ambergate and surrounding areas. As this is a new venture the club needs the toys and equipment to keep the children occupied and to make it a very different experience for them from the school day.

The Club has applied for funding from Awards for All and the Tesco Charity Trust Community Awards scheme to buy lots of play and craft equipment, and to fund specialist staff to teach new skills to the children. I have had lots of experience working with organisations like this and I know only too well that businesses and generous individuals tend to donate towards specific toys and equipment. The challenge for such organisations in the long run is to meet running costs - donating funds towards the electricity bill is not as enticing, but it really is equally as vital.

If you would like to get involved and donate equipment or funds towards this excellent local project then contact the Club via their website

Tina Faloon, Chair of the Club said that "It's really important that we can establish the club to give local parents the reassurance that their children are receiving quality and fun care after school and during the holidays."
