Tourist Attractions: St. Patrick's Day Parade!
Community groups from across Belfast join with professional and amateur performers, musicians and acrobats to celebrate St Patrick in an environmental, green-themed carnival parade. The city and its skyline will be depicted in the carnival procession with a Samson and Goliath float featuring a dare devil puppet making his way between the two famous cranes.
The parade led by the Lord Mayor of Belfast, Councillor Pat Convery will depart from Belfast City Hall at noon with current World and European Pipe Band Champions, St Lawrence O’Toole heading up the procession. The parade finishes at Custom House Square at 1pm with an outdoor concert, featuring headline acts (to be announced on 24th February) and an array of entertainment, including music from Pure Blarney, multicultural dance performances by Doherty School of Irish Dance, Bright Lights and Artsekta.
Older people are invited to pack up their dancing shoes and come to Belfast City Hall for an afternoon of jigs and reels, as well as old dance hall favourites, rounded off with a pot of tea and a bite to eat!
