Starting a new business in itself can be a daunting time especially if
it is one that involves services and is dependent on staff for delivery
of quality services. I started Crawley Forest School in September 2010
and before I wrote the school prospectus I ensured that we had a sound
human resources advisor in Margaret Keane to help us establish robust
systems for the organisation and the school.

Margaret has ensured that we establish the basic infrastructures that
are an intrinsic part of our daily operations. She helped us develop our
employee handbook, terms of employment, contracts, recruitment policy
and procedures and provide relevant training for senior staff. She has
helped resolve potential HR issues with a few staff and guided senior
managers in the processes of performance management and staff
development. Margaret has been a great sounding board to discuss issues
and has given sound advise and support whenever required. She has always
been at the end of the phone (even whilst on holiday!) and has often
been the voice of reason to me.

I would highly recommend Margaret for her in-depth knowledge and sound
judgement and for very quickly understanding the unique requirements of
our very complex service - an independent special school and children's
home for children with behaviour,emotional and social difficulties.

Vialtus Solutions has just re-structured its workforce and operation due to a change of ownership from GX Networks Limited to daisy Plc. Margaret's role was to provide the Human Resources support two days a week as our HR Manager is on maternity leave.

During this project, Margaret assisted with the planning and briefings for our Line Managers. She arranged the elections for the Consultative Committee, trained the elected and organised ongoing meetings during the 30 days consultation process to ensure that we, as a company, met our obligations under these procedures.

I found Margaret to be very professional and supportive in her dealings with the management team and employees alike. She is very flexible in her approach and made herself available to be on site when required or by telephone.

I have no hesitation in recommending Margaret as a Human Resources professional and if I required these services again I would contact Margaret immediately.

Margaret,

Thank you for producing the Hot Office Company Handbook, we have been
absolutely delighted with all the preparation work and the thoroughly
professional document you have produced. I have been particularly
impressed by your practical approach to a very technical subject by making
the document readable and accessible to all members of the team.

Having HR Dept visibly involved in the staff management process has been
highly beneficial; I certainly feel confident that any action I take in the dayto-
day running of my team is correct and fair; plus I find that the staff being
aware of your involvement gives credence to any action I take. I have
learned a great deal from you, in particular that ‘the rules’ are much less one
sided than I had imagined and that companies are protected as much as
individuals when it comes to the resolution of any issues, proving the correct
process if followed.

Margaret, I would like to say thank you on behalf of the BNI National Office for the help you have given us in dealing with a number of HR issues over the past couple of months. During the time that you have been working with us, you have already helped us to deal with disciplinary and redundancy issues.

With so many potential suppliers to choose from, we are able to pick the highest quality suppliers for any particular service. Therefore, we were delighted to use the services of The HR department to help us to deal with all of our personnel issues.
