“I was directed toward Pulteney Street Plumbers by a colleague whose parents live in Bath. Finding professional tradesmen at a long distance to sort out our weekend retreat was both challenging and frustrating. Our immediate concern was to redesign our two bathrooms in an old 16th century cottage where the water pressure was low, the plumbing system botched and inadequate and the configuration of the baths did not best use the space available. In came Pulteney Street Plumbers led by Chris Eke. I would have to say their professionalism, attention to detail, creativity, customer care and above all the end result is a great compliment to Chris and his team. I would have no hesitation in recommending this company. They are a great advertisement for the plumbing community in Bath.”

Chris and his team really do what they say on the ʼtinʼ!! Friendly, helpful, punctual and experienced we have used them at home and at work on a number of occasions and each time they have done an excellent job. I really canʼt recommend Pultney St Plumbers enough - no more waiting around only to get charged a fortune - hurray!!

We employed Pulteney St. Plumbers to carry out works during a renovation and extension project from August 2006 to Sept. 2007. We finished up with a four-bedroom detached cottage which had to be re-plumbed from scratch. Chris Eke worked with us from the planning stages right through to completion. We were keen from the start to incorporate what environmentally friendly elements into the build we could, and Chris was extremely helpful in this regard. He gave us good practical advice, and encouraged us to install a rainwater-harvesting tank and hot-water underfloor heating system. They are both up and running now, and operating very well. Chris was generous with his time in the demolition and groundworks phase of the project, and worked closely with our builder to make sure the mains water and sewage were correctly installed, as well as the water-collection pipes for the rainwater tank.

During the first fix, Chris and Tom laid out their pipe runs quickly and accurately, fitting in flexibly with the other tradesmen and helping us overcome any problems we had failed to anticipate. This continued with boiler installation, fitting out of the bathrooms and kitchen. They made a special effort to complete the upstairs bathrooms by our deadline, and coped well with the unique problems thrown up by our supplying non-standard sanitary-ware bought from a local salvage yard. This resulted in us being able to move into the house earlier than anticipated.

Pulteney St. Plumbers always provided us with a personal, friendly service. If we had a criticism, it was that bills came infrequently (not something that would worry many!) and weren’t itemised, making it less easy to break down the cost of various time and materials. But this needs to be seen in context of the fact that they stayed well within the estimates given when they costed the work.

In short, we would not hesitate to recommend Chris and his team for their high standards of workmanship, excellent communication and helpful advice. They always made responding to our needs their first priority, and the result is a high-quality plumbing system, working well and completed on time and budget.
