So there you are on your first day of business, you've done the networking, got your advertising in place and your website running - all boxes ticked!
This is especially true for us last year, when we expanded our business to Wedding & Event Childcare. We were "out there", our website looked amazing, with lovely pictures of children playing - but something was missing... Of course - US! Hello Celia, I just wanted to express my appreciation for the very nice picture you took of me at the bestofbath do, which has found its way into Bath Life. Since my middle name is not always Photogenic, this means a lot.

As my work centres on improving an individual’s self esteem by showing them which colours and styles really enhance their natural colouring and body structure, and is also a ‘feel good’ service for women and men, I wanted a website photo which reflected warmth, approachability and of course a good representation of my own colours and style. Celia I think has absolutely delivered what I needed and I would not hesitate to recommend her for any sort of photography – I have seen her wedding shots and some other candid photos of children and colleagues. She seems to be able to bring out the best in all her subjects, enabling them to relax and produce the sort of memories that live long after the moment.

I have seen Celia's work on a number of occassions and her photos are always brilliant. They're not only technically perfect, but more importantly they really capture the personality and story of the person being photographed. In common with a lot of people I really don’t like having my photo taken. My experience with Celia was so different; it was fun, quick and painless. I was lucky enough to be invited to Celia’s photothon for raising money for Romanian Children in October 2010. The location was beautiful and Celia worked her magic in immediately putting me at ease. She advised me how to sit, and to raise my chin in order to achieve the best results - and I can honestly say I have never felt so beautiful than in the shots she produced. Having known of Celia’s work for a couple of years, I have never heard anything than glowing praise for her ability to capture such instant expressions, feelings, and depth from her subjects. I would recommend Celia for any award, to any of my friends, and to anyone looking for a stunning profile shot for their online marketing.

I never worry about recommending Celia to my clients. Whatever she's doing, her talents don't seem to know any limits. Every shot has personality, style and a glow about it that I've not found with any other photographer. Most recently I recommended her to my client Playforce (based in Melksham). She had to spend 3 days with Early Years and Keys Stage 1 children, photographing them playing with a new playground range. Her brief was to capture their faces... their enjoyment. Snow, sleet, rain and frost didn't stop her getting some truly amazing shots. Next job was to photograph their teachers having a training session. And later this month she's back in with another of my clients, Wards Solicitors (in Bristol) doing portraits. Frankly, Celia is one heck of a find. I can't recommend her enough.

Celia has it! She has that intuitive talent for bringing the best out of people when photographing them, artistic judgement that can make a great photograph. Not many people have that, and I’ve spoken to others whose opinion I value highly, who also think she’s one of the best. Celia did an excellent web portrait of me which I use on my website. Now that websites and social media are so important to many businesses, I would highly recommend investing in a professional image to ‘front’ your business.

Celia has the essence to catch the real beauty within a person; her photos of me are so natural and capture the real me which is so rare to find in a photographer.

I can spot a photograph taken by Celia anywhere! Truly - she has an exceptional way of romanticising the most otherwise ordinary, plain or boring photograph. I have to say that in 10 minutes she even produced the most gorgeous selection of photo shots of me which, with all my lines and wrinkles, would have been a challenge to any photographer. Another point is that she is also such lovely company one would want her to be key photographer at any party or celebration. She blends in with guests and is a delight to have around...

Celia braved freezing temperatures this winter to achieve some beautiful images for our Poddely product launch. The images she captured of the children playing outdoors were stunning, and exactly to brief, perfect to use in our literature, on our website and for trade show exhibition stands.

I had my photograph taken by Celia last year as part of her portrait-a-thon and arriving full of cough and cold; I was the last person who wanted their website photograph taken.

Earlier this year, my company asked Celia to take web portraits of our whole team to go on our new web site (not live yet). Despite it being a cold, dark, damp day she still managed to capture the whole team in natural light, mainly by standing in the pouring rain for hours. And what results! The motley crew were transformed before my eyes! No lighting, no make-up – just honest graft and a natural ability to make subjects feel relaxed. This is raw, organic, non-additive, non-pesticide, home grown photography at its best!

Celia took a web portrait of me recently, all in aid of Robin Hood Ministries charity which she was fund raiding for. She made me feel relaxed, so quickly, obviously important when you are trying to capture the true personality of a person on camera. She was professional, friendly, warm and took some great photos. Having engaged Celia to photograph my sons earlier in the year, she was the obvious choice when I needed a new portrait for my art business - Oc-Eo Art (www.oc-eo.com). We were mounting an exhibition of sculpture and photography in Covent Garden, and I wanted to produce a high quality catalogue to help promote the artists and their work. The sculptress - Sophie Howard - is Bristol based, and I needed something that emphasised the fragility, the beauty and the power of her extraordinary work in terracotta. Celia's composition is inspirational. She captures perfectly the grace of Sophie's hands - which of course are the means by which Sophie creates her pieces - but also the relationship between the artist and her work. The colour contrasts emphasise Sophie's hair, the gold of the piece she is holding, and the warmth of her skin, all of which are brought out by the black background and the clothes Sophie is wearing. It's a wonderful portrait.

I was lucky enough to secure one of the highly coveted portrait sittings during Celia's "Business Against Poverty" charity action day. Celia worked wonders, brought out the "inner me", blurred the ravages of age but left me instantly recognisable. A true artist with her camera. Thank you, Celia.
