Carina Baverstock Couture is based in Bradford on Avon near Bath. This boutique, ideally suited for mothers of the bride, offers a most chic and elegant occasion wear collection. You will find unique statement hats and designer clothing, available in both ready-to-wear and made-to-measure.
Now, newly opened is our luxury ‘walk-in-wardrobe’ which exudes the same glamorous philosophy as Carina Baverstock Couture bridal.
We offer a bespoke collection of utterly wearable and totally memorable designer occasion wear by Temperley London, Suzanne Neville, David Fielden and Claire Mischevani.
Using the knowledge gained from years spent in all aspects of the fashion industry, together with an innate sense of styling, Carina & Lucy have built a unique collection of outstanding & totally unique clothes, available in both ready-to-wear and made-to-measure.
This capsule collection evokes pure sophistication and unadulterated Parisian glamour using fine slub silks, textured Venetian wool and divine silk chiffons in unusual muted colour palettes of nude, bronze, dirty lilacs, dusky pinks and soft duck egg peppered with feminine lace.
Our ethos was to create luxurious, wearable and stylish designs, evoking the classic elegance of Grace Kelly, Sophia Lauren, Jackie O’ and Wallace Simpson with couture cutting to enhance and flatter all figures. Along with the idea of modern dressing where a stunning outfit accessorised differently becomes one of your classic pieces for all those special occasions. I found Carina Baverstock Couture absolutely amazing I have to say. I went around quite a few bridal shops and Carina Baverstock was the last one I went to actually, and it was just completely different in regards to the service they gave and they made me feel absolutely like royalty really. My mum and sister were there and they offered us a glass of wine. Their expertise came through because lots of other people didnât bother asking about me as a person. They asked me how I would like to feel on the day and look on the day, and they asked about my fiancée which was nice because no one else did that, and got to know us as people, and think about the general look of the day which was really lovely. We spent a good 20-25 minutes talking about that which was great, and then they picked out dresses for me which I hadnât experienced before either and everything I tried was something I was able to pull off, it wasnât just what Iâd normally take off the rail. They were very good at being honest about what cuts worked for me and which neck lines were good, it was really nice to have someone who know so much about it and have so much passion for it really, that was great. It was a whole different experience, and when I tried on THE dress I certainly knew about it! Theyâve been really helpful â Iâve called back in to ask about shoes, they are very open to helping me out with whatever I need. The other thing I noticed as well is the layout of the shop, the detail theyâd gone to for their interior décor is just really wonderful. You have the whole shop, they put a blind down the front door, you have space to walk around. Some places Iâve been to have either got so many dresses crammed on the rail you canât see them, or you havenât actually got space to move and try them on. And also at other places as well thereâs either 2 clients or more, Iâve been to one in Bristol that had 7 people at a time which is just horrendous...(continued on next page)
(continued from previous page)...You do get that kind of personal treatment, youâre made to feel really special which is really really important because the idea is to only do this once! I liked their enthusiasm and excitement: I have to admit Iâm quite a girly girl and I get really excited and they were getting really excited with us. My sister who got married last September was quite jealous of the experience because although she found a lovely dress she never really felt that she got the service that Carina and Lucy gave us on that day â she was really impressed. If Iâm honest, people always said to me , oh youâll know when you find the dress, youâll feel it, I was getting to the point where Iâd found some lovely dresses but Iâd never had the experience that Iâd had at Carina Baverstock Couture. Really really supportive, really lovely and really excited for me which was great.
Yes I would certainly recommend Carina Baverstock. I found the service very good, very accommodating, I liked the way Carina was honest, but also open to where I was coming from and what I was looking for, her shop is pretty and relaxing, makes you feel comfortable, and her staff are really nice. So yes Iâve been really pleased. She had a good selection of dresses to choose from. I visited quite a few other places and it was interesting how I was torn between two dresses that were at her shop. Both the dress and the service were important to me. I did have a bit of a wobble about which dress I was going to choose - I phoned her up one day and Carina was very kind enough to listen to me and give me a bit of moral support. That was really nice, I felt really comfortable going back there on my own and the seamstress just instilled a lot of confidence, very professional. They close the shop for new appointments and I found that quite nice because you feel exclusive and it is a difficult thing to go through and make your mind up about, so itâs nice to have privacy, I guess, and nice service right at the beginning.
I would very much recommend Carina Baverstock Couture. Initially the certain questions that Carina asked made me feel that she was very âonboardâ for what I was looking for, she knew what she was doing and made me feel very welcome. Carina gave quite good guidance tips so if youâre not sure what youâre looking for it would be helpful. I had a general idea but still it was just nice to have that extra advice. Carina was very complementary as well which always helps when youâre there to try on the dress! Personally, prior to visiting the shop Iâd visited another 3 or 4 and the stock was much better quality than Iâd seen previously so obviously it had me gripped! I was looking for something quite elegant and with a bit of a label on it I guess. Any of the dresses that I wanted to try on they had in my size which was a positive as well. Carina was very professional. Some of the places Iâd visited can be a bit in your face and salesey but I didnât sense any of that, just generally very professional and helpful. When you walk in it is a very, very nice place to get fitted for a gown - the interior is lovely. It was very personal service as well - when youâre in the process of purchasing the gown Carina was very good one on one. As I said, would highly recommend!
