  • Bath Rugby

Now in its seventh year, Bath Rugby Foundation continued their tradition of spreading festive cheer by visiting the RUH children's Christmas party this week.

Father Christmas and the Bath Rugby Foundation team were joined by Bath Rugby players Nathan Catt, Brett Herron and George Wacokecoke to give presents to children from the 0-4s Therapies Boost Programme (formally The PAT Centre) at the RUH.

Charlotte Sivier, Therapy Support Worker, said: "We are so grateful for Bath Rugby Foundation's continued support and active involvement with our Christmas Party, here at the Children's Centre. It really is such a treat for the children and their families. Thank you to Father Christmas for all the lovely presents and to his Bath Rugby player helpers too. Everyone involved made it such a special day for the children, and put big smiles on their faces."

The 0-4s Therapies Boost Programme is provided by a highly specialist team within RUH, which includes Physiotherapists, Speech and Language Therapists, Occupational Therapists, and Therapy Support Workers. They work with children from birth to school entry age with a range of complex physical, communication, and sensory needs.

Bath Rugby player Nathan Catt said: "It's always lovely, especially at this time of year, to visit the children at 0-4s Therapies Boost Programme at the RUH. It was really inspiring to meet them all with their families or carers and to share their Christmas party with them in the presence of Father Christmas!"

Bath Rugby Foundation enhances the lives of young people through sport, with a particular focus on those with social and other disadvantages. It aims to impart the values of camaraderie, loyalty, discipline and respect found in rugby. The Foundation motivates, raises self esteem and confidence, and improves life skills in young people by impacting positively on educational achievement and social interaction.

Funded through donations, sponsorship and fundraising, the Foundation also provides opportunities for organisations and individuals to fulfill their community, charity and volunteering objectives.
