FREE collection in Basingstoke of household electrical goods including computer equipement

Do you have unwanted items such

as TV’s, computers, printers or other
everyday
electrical or electronic

goods that you want recycling?

Basingstoke based, Waste-IT, a leading Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) recycling and refurbishment company supporting businesses in and around Basingstoke, has announced the launch of EEECycle, a FREE of charge* domestic WEEE collection service for homeowners across the region.

‘Dedicated to helping the environment’

EEE Cycle were quick to respond to my collection of a washing machine and fridge. Very good servicing thank you.

As part of the recycling initiative, the firm has instated teams of dedicated drivers to collect obsolete items such as TVs, computers, printers and other everyday electrical and electronic goods from householders’ front doors and driveways. Where possible, residents are being encouraged to drop off unwanted equipment at Waste-IT’s Winchester Road, Basingstoke depot.

To help raise public awareness in the importance of disposing of WEEE responsibly, the company recently piloted a door-to-door leaflet drop in support of its ongoing social networking and local advertising campaigns. Information on the EEECycle service can also be found on Waverley Borough Council’s website.

As a result of promotional activities, Waste-IT is delighted to report larger than anticipated public interest with tonnes of waste electronics collected from doorstep collections already and the ongoing service is proving to be highly popular.

EEECycle are encouraging the public to make contact and people are being encouraged to book collections online, or to arrange a convenient pick up date via an easy to identify Waste-IT van.

*Please note - A £10 charge for collecting fridges and freezers is applied by the company due to the disposal cost of hazardous waste contained within these goods.

Dedicated to helping divert WEEE items from landfill and supporting the Government’s ambitious recycling targets, the service is also set to relieve the public of hefty material collection fees imposed by local authorities as well as the inconvenience, particularly for the elderly and disabled, of transporting heavy items to the local civic amenity site.

Licensed by the Environment Agency and an approved authorised treatment facility (AATF), Waste-IT plans on rolling out its EEECycle service throughout the whole ofHampshire, Surrey and Berkshire in the near future.  Further information can be found at the above website link or by calling us on Basingstoke (01256) 357351.
