I started with one of my children there and 6 years later all three are in love with dancing - great place which has a stronger leader who works hard to make it a great environment for all dancers - but with a vision to build and expand Long may it continue x
Open every day, it's a great place to learn, dance and meet friends
My daughter has been dancing with the school for 5 years. It has been a fantastic journey for her so far and to see her confidence in herself as a person grow as well as a dancer is wonderful. This has been down to her being in such an excellent dance school that gives so many opportunities and to the superb teaching. You know your child is truly happy when they come home and just love to show you all their dances with a big beaming smile on their face. To a lot of children it is like a second home and one they feel truly comfortable in. The dedication of the teachers (largely Tanya and Jenna is second to none). A great family feeling and lots of friends made too!! Belinda Feb 2012
My daughter spends 4 days a week at Basingstoke Academy of Dance and loves every minute of it. The studios are lovely, the teachers are fantastic and the results they achieve say it all. There is something for everyone from young children through to adults. The shows at the Anvil and the Haymarket are of a professional quality. Basingstoke Academy of Dance are also often featured in various events in the area, including Festival Place The best week of the year has got to be dance summer school when the children dance 8 hours a day for a week, then put on a show for the parents at the end of it
A couple of years ago I begged my mum to let me take up dancing again to support my GCSE PE. She eventually gave in after seeing "Tombquest" one of BADs dance shows. (Any dance school who can do an indiana jones style dance show has my vote). I started in teenage ballet and contemporary classes to fill in gaps as I stopped ballet many years before. My mum joined adult ballet and adult tap. We flourished and I went into grade 6 and mum went into the higher adult classes. Soon we too were on the Anvil stage in one of the dance shows, it was amazing. Since then Ive had 2 children (one of which does a dance class for 18months plus) I moved into adult ballet with my mum. I have never not had fun at dancing, the teachers always do their best to help you learn. I also credit joining BAD with meeting a great friend! I can safely say all 3 generations of my family are looking forward to all their future involvement with BAD on and off stage!

I have been a part of BAD for over 20 years now and I can see myself being here for another 20!(at least!) The support I get from Tanya (and the other staff) can not be described into such little words! Having been given the chance to help teach, be apart of the BAD company and working behind the scenes has really helped me to focus on the goal I want for the future.. working as a dance teacher! With the chances to do regular shows, events and trips out of the uk there is alot going for this school. I have made life time friends and gained so much knowlegde into the world of dance. To me it really is a 2nd home and anyone who wants to join the school would be welcomed with opened arms. Everyone here really is one big family! And with classes starting from 18months to adult it really is never too early or too late to start to learn to DANCE!! <3 Thankyou Tanya, (and everyone who is a part of BAD!)
I have been at the school for 22 years and have seen it go through several changes from new prociples to new buildings. Througout all of these exciting developments, one thing has remained clear..if you love to dance, be it for fun or in preperation for a future professional career, this is the place to go. At 26 I am still there, and am now dancing more than ever before. When times get tough, I always have my friends at Basingstoke Academy of Dancing and B.A.D Company to cheer me up. I would not be the person I am today without the experiences and the people at the school. So I recommend Basingstoke Academy of Dancing for its high level of teaching, its multiple classes and above all its enviroment. Hannah Cove
My daughter has been dancing at the school for 4 years, since she was 4 years old. Her confidence and progress in dance has come on so much since she has been there, and it is all down to the fab teaching / teachers at the dance school. They get so many other amazing opportunities including appearances in professional shows and various charity performances, which the children absolutely love. Its a great school, with a great atmosphere, it gets great results, but just as importantly it still has the fun element! All the teachers and staff there do not get enough praise for the amount of hard work they put into the school to make it so successful, so well done to everyone involved in making it such a fab dance school!
My daughter loves going to the dance school, she has been going there for five years, she has been given some amazing opportunities through the school and has met some wonderful friends and very friendly supportive teachers. It is a very social and homely place. We wouldn't change a thing.
My daughter Lucy moved to BAD when she was 12, having become very disillusioned by her previous dance school. Seven years later she's at university studying Musical Theatre with Dance Performance and has just achieved a First in her first ever practical dance assessment ... if that's not testament to the wonderful instruction she received from Tanya, Jenna and co then I don't know what is. The atmosphere in the school is amazing ... the pupils are always so lively, happy and inspired. As for the shows they produce ... WOW!!!! I've sat through many dance/drama productions whilst my daughters were at school/college and nothing has ever come close to the spectacle of a BAD show. Normally parents only go to see dance shows because their own child is appearing ... not the case with BAD ... every single act is worth watching. Thank you BAD for being such a big part of our lives.
Everyone is welcomed and included to whatever extent they want to be; a class once a week for fun or training every day for a future career. Everyone gets the chance to eppear in shows, and even the little kids get to dress up in full costume and make up for their big moment on the stage. There are plenty of oppertunities for those who want to take them; extra classes, GCSE dance, exchange visits to other countries, holiday activity days, summer schools etc. There's always something going on and everyone is made to feel welcome.
We have just joined BAD and my son is loving the modern and musical theatres classes he is doing. Thank-you for making us feel very welcome.
A lovely school with a great sense of community! Great for kids through to adults with classes in many different dance genres and levels. I love dancing here! :o)
My daughter has been dancing here since she was 3 years old. I have watched her progress in confidence and she's had some fantastic opportunities. She has achieved really good grades in her exams. The studios have a great atmosphere and everyone is really friendly. BAD is the only dance school for us!!

Both my daughters have attended the dance school since they were 4. The teachers and Tanya (principal) are amazing and really want the children to achieve together with building their confidence and ensuring that they have a lot of fun which is what it's all about!!! Can't rate the school highly enough - amazing, fantastic, brilliant!!!!
Staff are great very helpfull and friendly. Great chance to meet other parents and for chilren to make friends. Everyone at B.A.D makes you feel welcome no matter what and very supportive.
All of the students have an fantastic time working together to perform to the best of their abilities. They are not only trained but more to the point inspired by an amazing team of teachers lead by Tanya supported by Connie the Studio Manager. As a parent I feel that I am kept informed on what is going on and most importantly I know that my child is learning in a safe and happy environment.
Revived my love of tap after a 20 year gap. Great atmosphere and great teachers.
My Daughter joined the Basingstoke Academy of Dancing back in September. She moved from another dance school & we have found Tanya and her team to be warm and welcoming. They were informative right from the beginning and their good natures reassured me we were making the right decision to leave one dance school we were getting frustrated with and join another. we haven't looked back. We get regular e-mails, someone is always on hand to speak to, you can buy the dance clothing & they help guide you through this, the dance teachers are lovely -my Daughter has never been happier. She does musical theatre, modern & ballet but there is an enormously wide range of different dance genres to choose from throughout the week. The Academy is easily accessible - loads parking, refreshments are available & the dance studios are big, bright and breezy. All the other parents I have met seem contented, chatty & happy with their choice for their Son/ Daughter & I certainly am.
It's friendly, it encourages children to do their best, it offers a range of dance and other activities, the teachers are friendly and positive

The fab teachers at Basingstoke Academy of Dancing encourage my 3 kids to enjoy dancing in Modern, Tap and Ballet. I love the way my kids are enthusiastic about their classes and the way they come out buzzing. Dancing has definitely helped them to be more confident. My kids are quite shy and I find it unbelieveable that they are regularly up on stage performing or dancing at charity events. They love it! At Basingstoke Academy of Dancing there are many different classes on offer, and I'm loving the beginners adult tap too - something I never ever thought I'd even try! Isn't life about being happy? BAD definitely helps us be happy people!
I've been dancing here since I was seven years old and I think its the main reason I love dancing so much! The studios are fantastic and well equipped for all dance styles. The timetable is full of different dance styles which gives you the chance to try a new style you've never done before and cater for all types of dancers. And the teachers are amazing! One of the best things is the age range of the students. There are classes designed especially for adults which gives people who have never dance before to try it out and maybe discover a new passion. Its always felt like a second home to me and I would never have wanted to dance anywhere else!
