In my last blog I gave you some basic maintenance tasks to do and what to think about when you're driving in our inevitable rain, fog, ice and snow.
To make your journey safe and comfortable always ensure you carry these in your vehicle when the weather threatens snow:
- A shovel to dig yourself or others out of the snow.
- Flat, comfortable shoes.
- A good coat, gloves, scarf and hat.
- Sunglasses - snow can be bery bright.
- Snacks and drinks in case you're stranded or in a huge traffic jam.
Plus:
- Old pieces of carpet are excellent to put under tyres to help you out of snow and ice.
- Make sure your mobiel is fully charged. Purchase a charger you can use in the car.
- Try to keepyou rfuel tank topped-up. You'll need lots of fuel if you are stuck for a while with the engine on and the heaters blowing.
- Have your recovery service membership information and number with you at all times.
