Bonfire Night in Basingstoke

It’s nearly Bonfire Night in Basingstoke again everyone – except nowadays, we don’t get a bonfire at public displays do we – health and safety and all that!

What about ‘penny for the guy’ again you don’t see that much nowadays – I can remember in my youth , the most successful time we ever had with ‘penny for the guy’ was when we dressed our mate up in old clothes and dumped  him in a wheelbarrow, what a hoot when someone would pop a penny in the hat and he’d say “thank you very much”.

Well here in Basingstoke there are a couple of great firework displays to go to.  On Saturday 5th November we have The Mayor’s Firework Display at the memorial park and on Sunday 6th November there is the Hatch Warren Community Centre Extravaganza.

Both of these events promise a great night out for all the family and I hope everyone has a safe and enjoyable time.
