Lamont Pridmore shortlisted for prestigious national award

Lamont Pridmore, the Barrow-based family firm of chartered accountants, is celebrating after being shortlisted for this year’s prestigious Accountancy Age Awards.

The company is in the running for the ‘Small Firm of the Year’ title for 2010 at the ceremony organised by the magazine of the same name.  This is a national award for firms with up to five partners, which demonstrate consistently high standards of customer service, innovation, expertise and which adds significant value to clients.

Now in their 16th year, the awards are recognised as one of the main benchmarks of good practice in the UK accountancy industry.

The winners will be announced at a spectacular gala dinner which is being held at London’s Battersea Park Arena on November 17th.

Graham Lamont, chief executive of Lamont Pridmore, said: “We are absolutely delighted to have been shortlisted for such a prestigious award.”

Karl Burrell, managing director of the firm’s Barrow office, said: “Our team always work hard to deliver the best possible service to clients, which adds real value to their business or personal lives, so to see their efforts recognised is fantastic.”  “We do all the things that other firms of accountants do but it is at this point that our high levels of service really come to the fore by focusing on 3 areas:

  1. Keeping tax liabilities to a minimum
  2. Helping clients to make more money, including maximising the value of the business, grooming it for sale or helping to develop a succession strategy
  3. Investing wealth wisely and protecting the family and the business including pension and inheritance tax planning

The nomination comes just months after Lamont Pridmore was named as one of the Top 100 accounting firms in the UK. The Accountancy Age study also showed that Lamont Pridmore was the second fastest growing accountancy practice in the UK in 2010, with its income from fees going up by 29%.
