Fudstock is one of the year’s most hotly anticipated events and will be taking place on Saturday 28th August. It’s a day full of fantastic music, great food and good vibes.

Last year, due to restrictions – the event had to take place virtually, but this year sees Fudstock back where it belongs, returning to the fields at Cavendish Park, Barrow Island, bigger and better than ever!

It’s a brilliant day out for the whole family to enjoy featuring an incredible 37 acts across 3 stages. Whatever your musical tastes, there’s something for everyone!

Headlining the festival will be two huge names on the international music scene.  DJ Todd Terry, the Grammy Award nominated House Music Legend from New York needs no introduction, Todd will headline the Dance tent fresh from a performance at the sold out Cream Fields festival.  The main stage headline act has to be seen to be believed, Elvana are an Elvis fronted Nirvana tribute, this is the band everyone is talking about, they took the UK by storm in 2019 including sell-out shows all over the UK, a main stage appearance at Download Festival and 3 triumphant Glastonbury shows.  Get your Elvis wigs on and prepare to be blown away by these rock n roll icons!

Local acts have always played a massive part at every Fudstock and this year is no exception. Many incredible bands will be giving their time and performing for free in support of St. Mary’s Hospice including The Silver Bars, PV-77, Mad4It, Northern Flow, Chancr, Insula, Mark Pratt and The Commission.

There’s a wide range of delicious food available on the day from the likes of Dudes Dough Pizza, Wok n Roll, Greek Delights, VW Crepes and many more and you won’t go thirsty either as Fudstock will be serving a wide choice of great drinks from seven bars.

It’s a real family day out with kids entertainment, fairground fun for the family, vintage stalls and merchandise and lots of glitter on sale too. And as the light fades and dusk sets in, watch out for some seriously impressive moves from their guest act Laser Lights Alive, if you haven’t seen them perform before, prepare to be wowed!

Dance music fans will be in their element as Barrow Underground Music Society will be hosting the Dance tent this year and will be featuring 10 house music acts including names such as Smokin Jo and Seamus Haji as well as local legends DJ Gripper, Paul Jamez, DJ Justice and Homegrown.

The Bags of Love team will be hosting the acoustic tent.  Bags of Love is a collective of local acts who have come together to raise over £3,000 for Barrow Foodbank through virtual events and album & merchandise sales over the last year.  You can enjoy a line up of amazing local talent on stage all day.

The safety and wellbeing of the local community has always been key to the Fudstock team and they’ve been working closely with both Barrow Island Community trust and the wider Barrow Island community to ensure that this year’s festival is as inclusive, accessible and safe as possible for everyone. Feedback and advise has been taken on board from previous events and improvements have been made such as improving the toilet facilities and increasing the range of bar options.

The Fudstock organising committee commented, ‘Fud had a music festival dream, after such an uncertain year, we’re proud to have made a safe physical event a reality for local people to enjoy. We have worked tirelessly to stage the festival, but we could not have achieved it without kindness from people who have once again donated time and money and services, we live in an incredibly generous community.  We are proud to support St Mary’s Hospice, it’s a cause that is close to our hearts, we have all seen first-hand the caring and tireless work the team at St Mary’s do.  Come along and support the day, let’s make 2021 the best one yet!’
