Thebestofbarrowandfurness & Cumbria Chamber of Commerce had a great Network 5 Event last night at The Duke of Edinburgh Hotel. Good company, delicious hand made pizzas, and very attentive and helpful staff. Will definitely use this venue again for more events.
With friendly and very helpful staff, the Duke of Edinburgh bar is the place to go for a delicious bite to eat and a large selection of ales. Lovely relaxing atmosphere and a good location. Will definitely be back for more!
Spent the last weekend of July at the Duke of Edinburgh Hotel following a wedding on the Saturday. We stayed in room 112 which was beautifully furnished, quiet with a bathroom that put our home to shame. The bed was huge - in some ways too wide as it felt like my wife and I were sleeping on different Continents - and the cotton sheets were well ironed and immaculate. We had a problem on the first evening when my wife struggled with the menu (she is gluton intollerant), the chef appeared from the kitchen and suggested a number of alternatives which were whisked up in minutes. This put both my wife and myself in good heart and this positive mood continued the whole weekend.
Lovely hotel rooms stunning will be going back but for two nights as this was just a one night was sad to be going home!!Beds big lovely white soft cotton sheets and best sleep i have had in a long time!Food was lovely! All in all a wonderfull hotel!
Stayed here on business and was very impressed. Obviously been a lot of time and money spent on the hotel recently and all rooms are of a high standard. Two sofas, wall mounted wide screen TV with freeview and a DVD player with a selection of DVD's. The bed was extremely comfortable (even better than my own at home). Breakfast was huge (two of everything) which I struggled to finish. Although we ate out, we did see other patrons have the hotel evening meals which looked fantastic. The hotel is on Abbey Road and is a short distance from the town centre with many local bars and restaurants within walking distance. I would also say that it is relatively close to the lakes (windermere and ullswater). Certainly would stay here again.
