We are a well established two partner general practice accountancy firm based in Barrow-in-Furness, Cumbria. We offer a comprehensive range of accountancy services, everything from the preparation of basic tax returns and accounts preparation for smaller businesses through to audits and financial planning. Our clients are locally based within Furness, including Ulverston, Dalton in Furness and Barrow.
We offer a friendly and efficient service utilising the best I.T with on line filing of personal tax returns. We use most book-keeping packages including Sage and Quickbooks and we submit our clients end of year payroll returns on line in order to attract the Inland Revenue incentive payments.

Accountancy & Auditing Service
We provide a full range of annual accountancy, quarterly VAT and management accounts and bookkeeping services. We are registered auditors and provide statutory audit services to a number of companies and charities. We also do specialist audit work such as the audit of grant claims.

We deal with all self assessment tax returns which are submitted on line for faster processing. We also offer tax planning and advice. Book-keeping, VAT & Payroll Service
We deal with all aspects of VAT including quarterly VAT returns & on line submission, registration and consideration of the flat rate scheme and cash accounting where appropriate. We also help to review or complete up client records on Sage, Quickbooks, spreadsheets or manual records as appropriate
We operate a payroll bureau service with set fees per payroll run and number of employees, on line confirmation of payment and end of year returns.
Meet the team
Russell has extensive experience as a partner in large/medium sized accountancy practices. He became a partner in the firm in 1999 and took full control of the firm shortly afterwards on the retirement of the founding partner. He lives in Ulverston and is an active member of Furness Rotary and St Georges Society and he sits on the panel of the local enterprise agency. He has excellent contacts in the region.
James is an accountancy graduate who qualified with the London office of a national firm but subsequently moved to smaller firms in London and the West Country before moving to lovely Cumbria. He lives in the Duddon Valley and is a keen fell runner and race organiser for the Duddon Valley Fell races.
Senior Manager: Simon Oram
Simon Oram is a qualified Chartered Certified Accountant. He handles the work flow of the office and acts as manager on many of the larger jobs. He is also responsible for many of the specialist assignments including charities.
Grahame Hewson handles many of the larger accounts preparation and audit jobs and management accounts using Sage.
Paula Brereton is in charge of our payroll bureau service. She is assisted by Adam Smith. Paula also does many of the accounts jobs and some book-keeping and VAT's.
Sue Lynas heads our tax department dealing with self assessment tax returns for individuals and partnerships. She also does the contractor returns and some accounts jobs and is assisted by Joshua Flower.
Wendy Bentley, Leanne Tomkins and Joshua Flower handle most of our smaller accounts jobs, book-keeping and VAT's. Wendy is our expert on Quickbooks.
Marion New. Marion is our Receptionist & Admin Assistant who supports the Partners and Practice Manager with various administrative duties. She is also the friendly voice who most frequently answers your calls.
Madeline Wilson is the Practice Manager. She is responsible for the firm's bookkeeping and administrative procedures, plus marketing, client relations and various other duties including a PA role for the Senior Partner.
