Barrow AFC was founded in 1910 and were members of the football league until 1972. In their heyday they played in Division 3 which equates to our current Division 1. Their greatest moment in non league football was winning the FA trophy in 1990 at Wembley against Leek Town - 3 nil ! The club has survived due to a loyal band of supporters that have followed the team's fortunes over the years. They have been in and out of administration and still hold the dream of returning to the football league.
After avoiding relegation last season the club hope to consolidate this year aiming for a respectable mid table position. They will again clock up thousands of miles travelling as far afield as Gateshead and Eastbourne.
