There is something magical about snuggling up in a big coat in front of a fire.  Watching the flames flicker can really put you in the mood for some tasty char-grilled goodies.

Why not have some ready when everyone comes over?

Hot dogs are a firm family favourite and most kids love nothing better than eating one dripping in ketchup.  Sausage rolls can be a blessing too, if you are putting on a spread.  Finger foods are perfect for this time of year, as if the weather turns they are easy to grab and run inside with.

Jacket potatoes are also great for bonfire night.  They are fantastic for warming your belly through and can be topped with anything you fancy – great for fussy eaters.  If you pop them in the oven in the late afternoon they will be fluffy on the inside and crispy on the outside.

Another way to keep warm on a bang-tastic bonfire night, is to get a nice hot chocolate with marshmallows inside you.  Hug your mug as you watch the Catherine Wheel sparkle.  Little family members will love watching the marshmallows melt and if you are a connoisseur of the drink, you could even add squirty cream and flaked chocolate.

Last, but by no means least, a plateful of biscuits to dunk into your hot chocolate or nightcap always goes down a treat.

Whatever you get up too this bonfire night eat well and stay safe.
