Teachers in Barnstaple are being invited as of November 2014 onwards to request a visit from a representative of a national children’s charity. Wendy Whittaker from bibic (British Institute for Brain Injured Children, also known as Be Inspired By Incredible Children), which helps children with conditions affecting social, communication and learning abilities, is looking to visit schools in the town to make them aware of the charity’s work.
The Festival of Winter Walks was set up by Britain's walking charity, Ramblers. The aim is to make walking paths safer and encourage people to do more walking. This year, they want you to go out walking over the Christmas period!

The beach clean weekend is into its 21st year and all the information collected is made into useful data for the Big Weekend survey.
St Anne's Chapel sits in a green, pedestrianised precinct in the centre of Barnstaple. The Chapel is a Gothic building, thought to date predominantly to the early 14th Century, although there are no records to prove or disprove this. North Devon Moving Image (NDMI) is looking for local people to get involved with an oral history film making project about St Anne's Chapel in Barnstaple.
