Writing a Will is as important as insuring your car says North Devon Solicitor

It is amazing that as a nation we insure ourselves against every kind of eventuality.........safeguarding our houses, cars, bicycles, jewellery and computers against theft, fire and accidental damage. We insure our holidays, weddings and our lives, as death is the one inevitability that we ALL have to face!! And yet more than 40% of us make no provision to ENSURE that our personal possessions and hard-earned wealth is passed on to those we care most about.

Ask yourself these questions. Do you have dependants or loved ones that you want to provide for in the event of your death? Do you have assets that you want to retain in your family, not pay another form of tax to HMRC? Know you might need to make a will, but have been putting it off because you are worried about the possible cost? Or perhaps you have been told you don’t need to make a will, but aren’t sure if this is correct?

If any of the above applies to you, why not make yourself a resolution in 2012?
