Supporting families who have children with cancer
Pippa's Story
Pippa Jones was a wonderful, happy little girl who died in March 2010 from a rare brain tumour,aged just 3 years old.
Pippa was diagnosed with a fast growing tumour in October 2008. For several months she underwent intensive treatment including surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. Despite her illness she remained cheerful and continued to entertain hospital staff, friends and family with her funny stories and constant chatter.
Treatment ended in April 2009 but in September 2009 the cancer returned and Pippa died 6 months later on 15th March 2010.
Aims of The Pippa Jones Little Treasure Trust
Set up in 2010, TPJLTT aims to support children with cancer by;
- Providing activity bags for children who have cancer and treasure bags for their siblings
- Providing bags for teens including toiletries and gift cards
- Providing financial assistance towards childcare costs for the brothers and sisters, enabling parents to spend as much time as possible with their ill child.
- Provide funding to assist research into childhood brain tumours.
- Provide financial assistance to parents who have children with cancer requiring treatment abroad.
Fund Raising
Lots of events are planned to help raise the funds needed to fulfil the aims of the trust, these can be found on the website
Anyone who would like to become involved and stage events themselves are very welcome and much appreciated.
