Little Jo's Nursery and Pre-School provides high quality nursery care with highly qualified, experienced staff dedicated to each age group.
We're highly focused on child development and early education - and we encourage our children to be honest, independent and successful members of school and the wider community.
Our staff have been carefully chosen in terms of their personality and their awareness of others' needs. We actively encourage our staff to continue with their personal development and we now have two members of staff with foundation degrees (Level 5 NVQ) and one member of staff has qualified to Level 4. Other members of staff are undertaking courses which will lead to both Level 4 and Level 5 qualifications.

Child development at Little Jo's
When you enrol your child at this happy, lively nursery school, we will appoint a Key Person to provide individual care for your child and to work closely with them to ensure their progress through the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
Babies, toddlers and pre-school children are continuously observed, assessed and planned for to ensure their future achievements.
Records are kept to provide information to governing bodies (OFSTED), parents, other practitioners and for transition to their next setting. Throughout a child's progress we ensure their interests and preferences are considered and their voice acknowledged.
All children's work is valued and is displayed throughout nursery to build self-esteem and to develop their appreciation and respect of others work.
Progress throughout the Early Foundation Stage curriculum at Little Jo's is a shared responsibility of the practitioner, the parent and the child.
Settling into nursery school
We know that it can be daunting for children when they first join a nursery school.
We encourage our new visitors to recognise adults as a source of help, authority and friendship and their key worker will build their confidence and help them feel safe and secure while they are with us.
Our children are at the centre of everything we do and we want them to learn how to make the most of opportunities, embrace challenges, develop skills and achieve high standards.

Exploring the Natural Environment
At Little Jo's children are actively encouraged to assess their own risks in order to prepare them for the future.
The nursery has it's very own allotment which the children can visit and here they learn about growing their own organic food and flowers. They also enjoy having a picnic and learning about bugs and wildlife. Trips to the allotment are always an adventure which the children love.
The nursery school timetable
We're open from 8am to 6pm every weekday and our full day nursery care includes all meals.
Morning session - 8am to 1pm.
This includes breakfast and lunch.
Afternoon sessions - 1pm to 6pm.
This includes a snack and tea.
You may of course bring your child later or pick them up earlier if you wish, but please note that charges cannot be reduced.
After school clubs and holiday clubs
Little Jo's Nursery and Pre-School also runs activities and clubs for after school and holidays.
