For fine contemporary Indian cuisine, Chilli is an Indian restaurant with a difference. With its chic ambience and superb food it's the only Indian restaurant in Yorkshire specialising in Punjabi dishes.
The chefs have an excellent pedigree having worked in the Crown Plaza in Dehli and 5 star hotels in Dubai.
The owner, Jaz Boparai is a highly successful and experienced restauranteur who has brought his vision and style to Barnsley town centre.
What can you expect when you visit Chilli?
Chilli offers a wide range of dishes to cater for every taste. By listening to their customers they have created a menu which is exciting and varied. Signature dishes include seafood, duck, steak and chicken with mozzarella and appeal to customers who may be a little less adventurous or new to Indian cuisine.
For the lovers of traditional or hot and spicy dishes there are all the old favorites including Madras, Rogan Josh and Baltis.
There are also curries from many different regions of India to choose from.
Here’s a small selection of the choice and variety of dishes on offer
For starters:
- Chilli Machi – white fish deep fried in crushed herb breadcrumbs served with a tangy sauce
- Mhurg Khati Roll – shredded chicken with onion and peppers wrapped in an Indian roti
- Poori – a light thin deep fried chapatti filled with spicy sweet and sour filling of your choice of king prawn, chicken or vegetables
For mains:
- Chicken Tikka Chasni – barbecued chicken sautéed in exquisitely creamy sauce with a twist of sweet ‘n’ sour
- Kadhai Paneer – Indian cottage cheese simmered in a rich bhoona style gray with onions and capsicums
- Lamb Lalpari – cubed lamb cooked with red wine, red peppers, green chillies and coriander
- Mahi Kashmiri – cod loin simmered in a yogurt based spicy sauce topped off with fresh coriander
- Boti Kebab – lamb pieces marianated in Indian spices and mint served with mint cheese balls

A trio of venues under one roof
Chilli is located in a quiet area of town with its sister restaurant, Grille Streakhouse right next door. To complete the trio there is Chill, a beautifully furnished champagne bar located above the two restaurants.
Enjoy a meal in Chilli or Grille Steakhouse then venture upstairs to the relaxing and sumptuous surroudings of Chill where you can sample one of 15 specially chosen champagnes or enjoy a delicious wine or cocktail.

- Indian Selection £5 – Chicken Tikka Masala, Chicken Korma,Lamb Curry or Vegetable curry. All served with boiled rice, baby naan and side salad.
- Salad Selection £4.50 – Greek salad, Ceasar Salad, Chicken Tikks salad. All served with a fresh sliced baguette.
- Pasta Selection £5 – Penne Pollo Pana, Penne Napolitano. Served with a side salad and sliced baguette and butter.
- Baked Potato Selection £3.75 – Baked potato with a choice of Mild Cheddar, Baked Beans or Tuna Mayonaise. Served with a side salad.
