Rockley Rotary Club of Barnsley to raise funds for Woodhead Mountain Rescue

Woodhead Mountain Rescue was formed in the early 1970's. They are a volunteer search and rescue team serving South Yorkshire and the Peak District.  As well as rescuing walkers and climbers WMR also has a wider community role and was recently called in to action to evacuate motorists stranded on the A57 between Aston and Worksop. As a charity they rely entirely on donations to fund equipment, vehicles and their search and rescue dogs.

Rockley Rotary Club has decided to arrange a charity event to raise much needed funds which will be donated to Woodhead Mountain Rescue to help fund their excellent work.

The Charity event will be held on Wednesday 19 January at The Holiday Inn, Barnsley.

Tickets will cost £10 which includes a 2 course meal and there will be a talk by John Howe, a member of WMR.

Please contact Kathy Markwick on 0114 2830827 or 0772 9528844 if you would like to book a place - 5.45 pm for 6.00 pm and finish at 8.30 pm.
