TWO LOCAL PROJECTS ARE FINALISTS IN THE NATIONAL LOTTERY AWARDS 2011
Wentworth Castle and Stainborough Park near Barnsley have been voted through to the finals of the National Lottery Awards 2011. Public voting for the winner will take place this Autumn. Local people need to get out and vote for these local projects.

For a number of years now, members of Barnsley Rotary Club have given their support to a visit of children from Belarus who, even now, are affected by the fall out from the Chernobyl disaster which happened before they were born.

Rockley Rotary Club of Barnsley to raise funds for Woodhead Mountain Rescue
Woodhead Mountain Rescue, a group of local volunteers who give their time and expertise freely often helping to save lives. To continue their work, funds are always needed so Rockley Rotary Club of Barnsley are hosting a charity evening on 18th January.

Live music in Barnsley

As a person with no offspring, I am not at the forefront of all the fashion and social trends happening around young people. Even so, I couldn't be oblivious to the development of Proms, which is now an industry in its own right and set to grow further.
