Barnsley NHS Trust’s recent demolition and asbestos removal project has ensured the Barnsley Hospital will get a new lease of life.
DSR Demolition Ltd is proud to declare the demolition of a substantial section of Barnsley Hospital as complete, with all hazardous substances having been removed.
The large and demanding project, which included the knocking down of a psychiatric ward in a live hospital environment, was a spectacle to behold as it disappeared piece by piece.
The building contained the hazardous substance asbestos, which DSR’s fully qualified team took extra care to dispose of safely. Onlookers have been able to see the demolition stage by stage because of the prominent location of the hospital.
Having had much experience in demolishing structures in built-up areas, DSR were more than capable of ensuring safety as well as swiftness even with a high level of daily traffic and pedestrians surrounding the area.
Barnsley Hospital will be regenerating its premises in the near future, so keep a look-out for its exciting new developments.
