I enjoyed the WiRE event at Dove Farm last week. Jane Stretton is very accomplished at runing these events and bringing women from Derbyshire and Staffordshire together to share ideas and experiences. I caught up with Terry from Moorland Mobility and Emily and Maggie from Simply Staffordshire. I encouraged use of the Prize Draw cards to get
some great testimonials for these businesses. I can see that Prize Draws are viewed with suspicion even though I reminded the women present that I already have their details (from their business cards). As an awareness campaign though it seems to be doing a good job and all the testimonials it is generating are useful to back up their word of mouth marketing. I also helped Jane prepare some sausage rolls which were cooking in the kitchen of one of her Dove Farm holiday cottages . . . smart kitchen, all mod cons! And a final word - thanks to Jane's young daughter who helped serve some refreshments.
