Trafford Shopmobility & Access Group is a charitable organisation (Charity No: 1070383) that enables people with limited mobility to shop & use facilities within Altrincham town centre.
This charitable scheme provides wheelchairs (powered & non-powered) & powered scooters to individuals with limited mobility. Anyone with mobility difficulties as a result of permanent or temporary disablement, age, accident or illness can use this charity's scheme.
Users can go anywhere within Altrincham town centre - most footpaths have dropped kerbs at convenient points which accomodate the wheelchairs/scooters.
How does the scheme operate?
The Shopmobilty office is situated by Regent Road Car Park in the heart of Altrincham. On your first visit, you will be required to fill in a simple form & provide some proof of ID.
We will help you choose the best vehicle for your needs & show you how to operate it safely.
The Benefits of Membership
- Membership entitles you to one year's unlimited use of our vehicles.
- Membership is £25.00 per annum
One-Off Charges
- Powered scooters/wheelchairs £2.00 per hour
- Non-powered wheelchairs £1.50 per hour
NB We also hire out non-powered wheelchairs on long-term loan.
