Free swimming for residents aged 60 and over; and children aged 16 and under has been launched by Rushmoor Borough Council.
Local people who qualify for the scheme can register at Farnborough Leisure Centre and Aldershot Indoor Pools. They will need to complete an application form and show proof of their age such as a driving licence, pension book or passport.
Younger swimmers must be accompanied by a parent or guardian when they register. If the child is 14 to 16, proof of age is required such as a birth certificate or passport.
There is a small charge of £2 to cover the costs of administration and for the membership card.
Once registered, residents can enjoy free swimming at Farnborough Leisure Centre and Aldershot Indoor Pools. Local people can swim for free as often as they like at all public/general swimming sessions, lane swimming sessions, and family fun sessions (some restrictions will apply – please ask when you register).
