After many years hard-labour It is at last, time to replace the much loved old bar top at the Westy and although we're really sad to see it go, it's not all bad news as we want YOU to get involved in creating our new bar top…. Here's how:
We're asking you, our friends and customers, to loan us something that really sums up the Westy for you. Maybe it's a ticket stub, a poem, a photo, a plectrum or just your favourite memory. It doesn't matter if it's not scannable or flat - if you can't email the image we can photograph your item here and return it safely afterwards.
Ideally we are hoping to get everything collected by the end of this week (27 August) so that we can unveil the brand new bartop as early into our new Autumn season as possible… and trying out the new bar top has got to be a great excuse for a night out at the Westy too!
You can either email files to our usual email address (this one westendcentre@hants.gov.uk) or drop your items into the box office Monday-Friday 10-6 for the attention of John. If you're leaving a 'thing' please make sure it has your name and contact number with it so that we can return it safely to you.
Please help us and don't be afraid that if your items small or just personal to you, it's not the size that matters - it's the meaning.
And whilst you're dredging through memories past and present we also want to create a 'Wall of Westyness' to celebrate the brilliant and diverse and sometimes frankly bizarre events and happenings that have taken place at the WEC over the years. Any images, posters, gig flyers, poems, tickets or pictures that you happen to have would be very gratefully received and as with the bar items returned to you too… if you have an item for the 'Wall' please email if fao Nicci or drop it into the box office when you're passing…
