Westival 2011 offers the unique and fun atmosphere of a festival, but right on the doorstep. As soon as you walk into the familiar setting of the West End Centre and smell the specially laid grass that carpets the floors you know something very special is happening! This year sees the return of the legendary Pyramid Stage, alongside a second stage in the Gallery. Some of the best local bands have already confirmed, adding to a diverse line-up which could feature a few famous faces as friends of the West End Centre sign-up and get involved.
Whilst the heart of the festival is always going to be the music, the other activities happening around the venue ensure it’s more than just another gig and provide a brilliant creative atmosphere! Both the Friday and Saturday evenings at Westival are the perfect opportunity to socialise to a mix of music and chill out at the bar with friends. Saturday afternoon (2pm-6pm) is great for families, with free tickets for under 11s and lots of fun free things to do. Why not take advantage of the grass in the two stages and plan your very own weather-proof picnic too, (food only), the perfect way to catch an acoustic band without any moaning or groaning from the children!
Westival 2011 sees even more opportunities to get involved behind the scenes, either as a volunteer, or at a community workshop. To keep up to date with the line-up and chances to get involved follow the Centre on Facebook at www.facebook.com/westendcentre
Coming to the Summer Westival is also a great way to show your support for the Westy and have a lot of fun experiencing an amazing event that only happens in Aldershot....
