My teenage son loves to read but doesn't think it's cool to be seen going to the library. Perhaps this is the answer?
There are thousands of eBooks and eAudio titles now available to download from Hampshire's library website including 2200 adult titles and nearly 700 children’s and teen ones too, with the number of titles set to triple over the next year.
Customers can download books onto a reader or a range of portable devices via a laptop or computer and Audio books can be downloaded on to mp3 players. All the software needed is available to download free from the library website.
eBooks are just like printed ones; only one borrower can check out an eBook at a time. After two weeks, the eBook or eAudio book will automatically expire and delete. This means that there will never be any overdue fines to pay!
This service is open to all Hampshire library card holders or sign up online or at any of the county’s libraries.
Call me old fashioned but I do still love a gander around the library and it's quite a nice way to waste half an hour with the children. I am also really pleased that penalties for late returns of children's books have been waived – as I'm not always the most organised mother!
