1st Aldershot Scout troop (based in North Town) have increased in numbers this season, joining the group over the past few months have been several girls which is great. Scouts aim for all the children to learn whilst having fun at the same time by including a mixture of games and activities. The Scouts practice traditional Scouting activities but try to keep their programme fresh, original yet informative.
Last month the troop learnt how to carve wooden spoons, took part in some adventurous outdoor games at night and learnt about diversity (where they completed day-to-day activities such as brushing their teeth, unwrapping sweets and making a sandwich whilst blindfolded or wearing slings).
Scouts at 1st Aldershot enjoy learning to be independent but are also quite keen to try out the more adventurous activities available such as climbing, kayaking, hiking and archery (and with the opening of the newly-refurbishedRunways End in Aldershot it opens up a host of facilities available locallysuch as climbing walls, abseiling, etc)…
