Organised by Rushmoor Borough Council and sponsored by The Wellington Shopping Centre, the competition invites local people to enter their photographs of Aldershot with a chance of being included in a special 2011 calendar.
Anyone with a camera can snap away at his or her favourite buildings, architecture, gardens, parks, flora and fauna. The 12 best photographs will be included in the calendar, which will be on sale in the Aldershot Visitor Information Centre at the Princes Hall and at events such as the Christmas Lights switch on. All proceeds from the calendar will be donated to the Help for Heroes charity.
David Phillips, Aldershot Town Centre Manager at Rushmoor Borough Council said: “The competition is open to everyone, amateur or professional, young or old and will be a great opportunity to celebrate the town.”
Gary Little, Manager at The Wellington Shopping Centre added: “The Wellington Shopping Centre is proud to be sponsoring the calendar competition and we’d love to see lots of local people taking part. By buying a copy of the calendar, shoppers will be supporting their town as well as a worthwhile charity. The calendar will also make a unique Christmas gift.”
More information about the competition and an online entry form is available at www.rushmoor.gov.uk/calendarcompetition or by calling Edward Haversham at the Visitor Information Centre on 01252 398 573. Entries can be digital images supplied on disc, submitted online or as a good quality print.
The deadline for entries is Friday 1st October, with the judging taking place later in the month and the calendar going on sale in November.
