The biennial Sunningwell Festival will return on 1st-10th June this year and promises to be the best yet, with an acclaimed line-up taking to the stage.

Sunningwell Festival is perhaps one of the most unique events of it's kind here in the UK, set on a stage built over the tranquil village pond, which is nestled in the heart of the village. The pond itself was first referenced in a local deed poll in 1447 AD and it's waters were reputed to have healing properties.

The festival's varied programme attracts visitors of all ages and backgrounds, with a great reputation for being family-friendly. Sunningwell Festival is organised by a team of volunteers and operates under registered charity Opera Anywhere Ltd. Any surplus from the festival is re-invested into supporting arts in the local community.

2012's festival will also see a choral performance in the 13th century village church to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee, in a typical prom style concert.

Sponsorship Opportunities

Although Sunningwell Festival consistently attracts a number of high profile sponsors there are still opportunities for local businesses to get involved with this unique event. The festival attracts audiences of up to 500 people for it's open air events and benefits from considerable press attention.

Sunningwell Festival is renowned as a family event and draws a broad demographic from the region, visitors from surrounding villages and tourists visiting nearby Oxford. The festival's organisers offer a number of sponsorship packages to suit a wide range of budgets, each helping to raise your profile in the local area and representing a great return on investment.

Sponsorship is what keeps the festival alive.

It is a special kind of giving that reaches out and shares its results with many satisfied people: the audience who are able to enjoy a memorable performance or other event and of course the artists themselves. It could be a well established artist sharing his talent or it could be someone just starting out on an exciting career who is given the opportunity to perform. This is all in addition to the pleasure received by the Sponsor's guests as they enjoy the benefit of best seats to the performance. Equally important it is your opportunity as a Sponsor to use this as a marketing tool. There are many ways in which you can achieve this and we'd be delighted to discuss with you a package that would match your aspirations, to give you an idea though, these are the various offers:

About Sunningwell Festival

The concept of Sunningwell Festival first took shape during a working party at a Sunningwell Parish Council Meeting back in 1999.

The parish clerk at the time, Norman Baird, encouraged the meeting's attendees to think big and outside the box for the village's Millenium celebrations and so the mad idea of building a stage over the pond was agreed.

Following two very successful prom concerts on the pond the idea evolved once more to celebrate the Jubilee in 2002, creating a real festival atmosphere. Permission to close the road enabled the area to accommodate a bigger audience and the 2005 festival was bigger and better than ever.

The 2007 and 2010 festivals had a hugely positive impact on the local community after attracting huge press interest and an acclaimed line-up. The 2012 festival promises to build on this success and be an unforgettable 10 days on music, fun and family-friendly entertainment.
