Menter Aberystywth
Menter Aberystywth is a regeneration partnership for Aberystywth and it's surrounding area. Community Regeneration builds on the ethos of commmunity and simply means thatt the people living in a defined area take direct actions to address issues affecting their community rather than have solutions imposed upon them.
Mentor Aberystywth has evolved from initial discussions with a small group of partners who shared a commitment to improve things in the town. In March 2004 menter Aberystwyth was officialyy established and it was registered as a Company Limited by Guarantee.
This means that the running and finances of Menter Aberystywth are completely transparent, with annual accounts submitted to Companies House. There are currently 12 Board Members, who are involved on an entirely voluntary basis, and who each have a commitment in developing and promoting Aberystywth.
Parneriaeth adfywio ar gyfer Aberystywth a'r ardal yw Menter Aberystywyth. Mae adfywiad cymunedol yn adeiladu ar yr thos o gymuned gan annog pobl sy'n byw mewn ardaloedd aarbennig i fynd i'r afel a phreblemau sy'n effeithio ar eu cymuned, yn hytrach na dibynnu ar atebion o'r tu allan.
Cafodd y syniad o geru Menter Aberystywth ei drafod gan grwp bychan o bartneriaid oedd am wella'r dref a'r ardal gyfagos. Sefydlwyd y Fenter yn swyddogol ym mis Mawrth 2004 ac fe'i cofrestrwyd fel Cwmni Cyfyndgedig Trwy Warant.
Golyga hyn fod gwaith a chyllid Menter Aberystywth yn gwbl agored, a chyfwynir y cyfrifon blynyddol i Dy'r Cwmniau. Mae 12 Aelod o'r Bwrdd ar hyn o bryd, ac mae gan bob yr un ohonynt ddiddordeb mewn datblygu a hyrwyddo Aberystywth gan roi hamser yn wirfoddol i fynychu cyfarfodydd.

Q: What are the main aims of Menter Aberystywth?
Menter Aberystwyth can undertake a wide range of regeneration activities within the town and its surrounding area. The board of Directors have identified the following four priorities, which will be reflected in the projects carried out by Menter Aberystywth in the near future:
To act as an advocate and a facititator for the town and its wider area
To help manage and improve the operation of the town
To promote higher standards of business management and customer service in the publc, private and voluntary sectors.
To create and market a distinctive image for Aberystywth and it's surrounding area's quintessential Welshness and cultuarl qualities, and the town's role as the hub of a county of great diverse, interest and beauty.
A Business plan has been developed and adopted by Menter Aberystywth stating how the orgaisation will operate. Within this business plan is a full Action Plan full of projects built around the priorities listed above. The action plan illustrates the practical work that Menter Aberystwyth will undertake during its first three years of life. Further ideas for the project will be developed along with those listed in the current Action Plan and these will be included in the annual Action Plans developed by Menter Aberystywth.
Q: How will Menter Aberystywth acheive it's aim?
Menter Aberystywth will achieve it's aims by gaining support if the community and using it's support to justify funding applications, which will in turn enable us to implement the wide range of projects listed in the Action Plan. menter Aberystywth will also be identifying and developing new projects on an annual basis. Some of the projects listed in this years Action Plan include:
The development of a new hihj profile website for Aberystywth and it's surrounding areas
To develop an Events Strategy for the area
The improvement of the town centre including signage, interpretation, pedestrianisation, transportation and car parking
In time Menter Aberystywth also wish to develop a project in conjunction with all of the Community Councils, and will be looking to consult each and every Community Council about this in the near future.
Q: How is Menter Aberystywth funded?
Menter Aberystywth is funded by the following :- Aberystywth Town Council, Univeristy of Wales Aberystywth ands the Aberystywth Business Club. This funding covers costs and a part time Development Officer. menter Aberystywth will sourse funding for specific projects and assist other groups and businesses to do the same

As well as delivering the specific projects listed in the Action Plan, Menter Aberystywth is able to help other smaller groups in the area to develop their own projects, and point businesses and other groups towards appropriate funding apportunities and available advice.

Cafodd Cynllun Busnes ei ddatblygu a'i fabwysiadu ganMenter Aberystywth sy'n esbonio'n fanwl sut mae'r cwmni'n gweithredu. O fewn y Cynllun Busnes ceir Cynllun Gweithredu manwl yn llawn o brosiectau i'w datblygu yn seiliedig ar yr amcanion uchod. Mae'r Cynllun Gweithredu hefyd yn nodi'r gwaith ymarferol y bydd y Fenter yn ei gyflawni yn ystod tair blynedd gyntaf ei bodolaeth. Yn ogystal caiff syniadau ar gyfer prosiectau newydd eu trafos a'u datblygu, a byddant yn cael eu cynnwys yhg Nghynlluniau Blynyddol Menter Aberystywth.

Fe fydd menter Aberystywth yn cyflawni ei hamcanion trwy ennill cefnogaeth y gymuned, gan ddefnydddio'r gefnogaeth honno i gyfiawnhau ceisiadau a geir yn ein Cynllun Gweithredu. Bydd Menter Aberystywth hefyd yn nodi ac yn datblygu prosiectau newydd yn flynyddol. Ymysg rhia o'r prosiectau yn ein Cynllun Gweithredu am eleni y mae:
Datblygu safle gwe amlwg ar gyfer Aberystywth a'r ardal gyfagos
Datblygu strategaeth ar gyfer digwyddiadau yn yr ardal
Gwella canol y dref gydag arwyddion, dehongle, pedestreiddio, trafnidiaeth a pharcio ceir.

Mae Menter Aberystywth yn cael ei ariannu gan y canlynol :- Cyngor y Dref Aberystywth, Prifysgol Cymru Aberystywth a Chlwb Busnes Aberystywth. Mae'r arian yma yn gofalu am swyddfa a Swyddog Datblygu rhan amser. Yn ystod y cyfnod hwn fe fydd Menter Aberystywth yn ceisio am arian ychwanegol ar gyfer prosiectau, gan helpu grwpiau a busnesau eraill i wneud hyn hefyd.
