I ate here tonight and boy am I glad I did. I had Chicken Tikka Masala which was extra sweet and creamy with a bit of spice but not too hot - just how I like it. The guys were fantastic they did a great job and it was a truly great eating experience. Everyone should go here for the lovely food and I will definitely be going back next time I am in the area.
I was recommended time and again to try this restaurant but was reluctant - I have never been a fan of Indian food. The Sundarbon has changed all that - their chicken Korma and Pilau rice is superb, tasty and smooth without being bland or greasy, and I love the stuffed piratha. A great eaterie and such lovely service.
Always a warm welcome, and the food is of a terrific standard. Having a takeaway or sitting down in the restaurant, they never disappoint with a range of dishes, full of flavour and interest.
The place to eat.Exceptional service and food to match, love it.The spices and relaxed atmosphere here in Alis place is just the thing you need after a stressful week, the beers not bad either.
Recently a few friends and I went for a meal at the Sundarbon Tandoori in Abergavenny. From the time we entered the restaurant right up until we stepped outside the door that evening, the mood and atmosphere of the place was welcoming and comfortable whilst maintaining a friendly and efficient service. The food was certainly recommendable, with a range of choice on the menu to suit everyone, but without compromising to a stereotypical westernised taste in food. The many different flavours and contrasts in the dishes gave the whole night a really authentic feel which left all who attended the meal agreeing that the Sundarbon Tandoori really is an experience not to miss
I love the enthusiastic greeting and attention I always get at this great restaurant, and the food never disappoints. In the past I wasnʼt very adventurous with my choice of dishes but the staff can be relied on to advise you exactly what to expect, and Iʼve always enjoyed every dish they have recommended.
The Sundarbon is our favourite Indian restaurant in the area, and I try to get the family along there as a regular treat. Itʼs good to find a restaurant that is so welcoming towards me and my kids - often youʼre made to feel a second-class citizen if you dare spoil other peopleʼs dining experience by making them share a room with adolescents! At the Sundarbon the staff are always attentive and friendly, and willing to accommodate the childrenʼs occasional odd requests (Tikka Masala sauce without the chicken?!).But atmosphere alone wouldnʼt keep you coming back - the food has to be good too! And here it always is - as well as all the usual suspects they have lots of more unusual items on the menu for when you feel adventurous, and Iʼve never been disappointed yet.If thereʼs any downside, I might say that sometimes theyʼre a little too busy, and you might feel a little rushed to vacate your table (at weekends), but it hasnʼt happened often. Equally, itʼs not the cheapest Indian in town - but the quality of the food makes it worth paying a little extra for...
