At last - a really great book shop! Book-ish has a terrific selection of books for readers of all ages, in English and Welsh, and if you can't find the one you're looking for they will happily order in any book that's currently in print. As well as current titles, they also stock some favourites of yesteryear including Ladybird books and other well known ranges, and even some book-inspired gifts.
Book-ish is a friendly independent bookshop, toy emporium, and gallery in Crickhowell, just a few minutes' drive from Abergavenny. Their philosophy is simple - to connect people to great books, to help children to develop a life long love of reading and to encourage imaginative play. They offer quality service and are happy to talk about their books, toys, collectibles and artwork all day long....you just try and stop them!
Owned by Emma & Andrew Corfield-Walters, Book-ish stocks a broad range of really unusual books as well as gifts, jewellery and accessories, and offers a professional service both in store and online at www.book-ish.co.uk. Browsing is welcomed and if what you want is not on the shelves, they can order any book for you if it's currently in print.
Book-ish has a wide selection of popular and less well-known books for both adults and children, including a Welsh language range, as well as toys, jewellery, novelty items and original artwork, and with a range of really unusual cards and wrapping paper, this is a one stop treasure trove of the highest standard.
With its close proximity to the fabulous Abergavenny countryside and the Brecon Beacons, their excellent range of books wouldn't be complete with out maps, local guides and history editions that will appeal to every taste.
Even some of the gifts are book-themed, including Penguin-paperback-themed mugs and accessories, traditional toys and games, jigsaws and puzzles, and the atmosphere throughout is one of a nostalgia for beloved things of the past.
