Spring is here (yes it is, haven't you seen the crocuses and snowdrops?) so it must be almost St David's Day. And with the springtime daffodils comes the Marie Curie appeal for 2010.
Marie Curie Cancer Care provides nurses and emotional support for those caring for cancer sufferers who are being cared for at home. They have released a video appealing for support from the public and are being backed by the big names in entertainment, including Stephen Fry, Jane Horrocks and Hugh Grant who are lending their voices for use in radio advertisements.
Marie Curie Cancer Care desperately needs 20,000 volunteer collectors to give an hour of their time in February and/or March to help raise much needed funds for this worthy cause.
If you can help please call the Daffodil Hotline on 0845 601 3107, or drop into the Marie Curie charity shop in Frogmore Street (almost opposite New Look fashions) to show your support for the appeal.
And don't forget to donate any items you have finished with - someone somewhere will be glad of them. Remember, it gives you more space at home - and the justification to do a bit more local shopping!
