The school holidays are here, and parents will be on the lookout for activities to keep the kids occupied over the coming weeks.  Fortunately there are lots of fun things going on in and around Abergavenny.

This Saturday afternoon there’s a fun show at the Borough Theatre in Abergavenny which describes itself as being “made with and for 3 to 6 year olds”.

It’s called “Claytime” – characters suggested by members of the audience are modelled out of clay during the show, and children are invited up on stage to join in.  It sounds like a great way to kick off the holidays.

Following the clay theme, have you spotted the new shop in town where you can paint your own pottery? “Manic Ceramics” started in Hereford and has now opened a new branch on the corner of Castle Street and Cross Street in Abergavenny (to the side of The Angel hotel).

They’re open 7 days a week so if our summer holiday weather isn't the best, you can drop in and get creative by painting a plate or a mug. They make great presents.  You can also take a group of children there for a party. Maybe you could choose a theme; horses, fairies, dragons and dinosaurs are a few of those on offer.

Give Anne Davidson a ring on 07930 907079 to book a party. And do you know the best thing?  You don’t have to be a child to enjoy this!  See you down there....
