Thousands join the first Celebrate Aberdeen Parade
The Parade showed that the Granite City knows how to party, with a festival of colour, dance and music
Over 3,000 people from charities, sporting and performing art groups marched along Aberdeen’s Union Street to the Castlegate in a celebratory atmosphere.
The Celebrate Aberdeen Parade was such a success that it is likely to become a regular event.
I come from the South West of England where winter carnivals are a tremendous attraction, drawing crowds and visitors from across the UK and even abroad. It would be great if Aberdeen could develop such carnivals, attracting visitors from all parts of Scotland and further afield.
